Last year, 2023, Transport for NSW announced that the Glebe Island Bridge Temporary Fender project would go ahead in order to provide safe navigation for vessels and protect the bridge until future renewal plans for the bridge are resolved. However, as at December 2024, the work does not appear to have been completed.
